I believe that all external spaces, whether small private gardens or large public spaces, can benefit from good and coherent landscape design. In my work I aim to work with clients to fully understand their needs and what they want from their gardens or outdoor spaces to provide practical solutions to fully maximise their potential.
About me
In over 40 years as a landscape architect I have worked in both public and private practice.
In this time I have been involved in the design and implementation of a wide range of projects at all stages from initial feasibility, preparation of planning submissions, detailed hard and soft landscape design, contract supervision, completion and maintenance. Projects have included, parks and playgrounds, residential schemes, school and university grounds, health facilities, industrial and commercial developments, business parks, retail premises and private gardens. This has also included preparation of landscape and visual appraisals and impact assessments and appearing as an expert witness at a number of planning inquiries.
Key projects have included Touchwood Shopping Centre and Dickens Heath Village Centre in Solihull, mental health facilities in Leeds, industrial developments in Daventry and Wellingborough and campus improvements for the University of Leicester. A number of images reproduced are from schemes completed during employment at Barry Chinn Associates Ltd.
